Student Activity Center

333 East Campus Mall 3rd floor
9:30 am to 6:30 pm
Monday-Friday

  • You must have a WisCard (UW Photo ID) and be registered for the Fall 2009 semester to get a pass.

  • For info on how and where to get your WisCard, please go to the WisCard webpage.

  • Please wait one day after you register and/or pick up a new or replacement WisCard before you try to pick up your ASM Bus Pass.
These records are updated overnight during the week.

  • You must pick up your own pass; no one else can do it for you.

  • Your ASM Student Bus Pass is good for all Madison Metro routes.

  • All campus buses (Routes 80, 81, 82, 84, 85) are free-you don't have to swipe your pass to ride.

  • You may have ONE bus pass per semester. If it is lost, stolen or destroyed, you may obtain one replacement. There is a charge of $20 for a replacement. If you return a damaged pass to us, there will be no charge.

  • Only YOU are allowed to use your ASM Student Bus Pass. You cannot transfer your pass to anyone else.

  • Metro drivers may ask to see a rider's WisCard at any time; if the passenger does not have a WisCard, the pass may be confiscated and the holder prosecuted.

  • If you are unable to use mainline buses due to a permanent or temporary disability you may qualify for special services ("paratransit"). For more information on how to qualify, go to our Paratransit page.

  • Some students such as senior auditors are ineligible to participate in this program. Please see our FAQ page for program rules.

  • UW faculty and staff and UW Hospital Employees are NOT eligible for an ASM Bus Pass. Staff may participate in the UW Faculty/Staff Bus Pass program.  For more information on the UW Employee and UW Hospital Pass Program, please go to the Transportation Services website.
