One of the perks of being a student at UW-Madison is an ASM Bus Pass, good for unlimited rides on Metro, Madison's local bus and paratransit system. Your student government, The Associated Students of Madison (ASM), initiated this program for lots of reasons: Almost all UW students are eligible to pick up an ASM Bus Pass; however there are some limits. Please see our FAQ Page to learn more. Spring/Summer 2008 Passes are available now at StudentPrint, Yes, you can still pick one up even though you didn't do it at the beginning of the semester.
Madison Metro serves Madison and some nearby cities seven days a week from the early morning until late evening. Maps and schedules for every bus route are available online, and there is an interactive page where you can fill in your location and destination and find the best route and schedule for you. It will even show you a map of where to get on and off the bus, and what time the bus will pick you up and drop you off.
Paper versions of Metro maps and schedules are available at StudentPrint and on all the buses as well. If you would prefer to talk to a live human being, call Metro Customer Service during business hours at 266-4466 (TTY: 267-1143).
Paratransit Service Your ASM Bus Pass is also good for paratransit services, which are transportation services adapted to the special needs of people with temporary or long-term disabilities. Click here for more information and the application form.
UW and UW Hospital, and Emeritus Employees have their own pass program. If you are not eligible for an ASM Pass, you might qualify for one of these. Get the basic information here.
