The ASM Diversity Committee researches, educates and promotes awareness about diversity and multiculturalism. We advocate for a campus climate this is welcoming and inclusive for all students who identify with a variety of nationalities, sexualities, gender, ethnicities, abilities and socioeconomic and racial groups. ALL are welcome!

This year the Diversity Committee has yet to decide its main focus for the campaign.

Social Justice Awareness Week: "Real People. Real Talk."  date TBD, is designed with the goal of creating dialogue, education, and awareness through a stream of dialogue/discussion oriented events. Using interactive panel discussions, spoken word, and open discussions, students will have a place to expand on REAL ISSUES that are affecting REAL PEOPLE. These people are the students of the UW Madison Campus and these issues are affecting them NOW. Topics last year included Hate Crimes, Domestic Violence, Interracial Dating, and Affirmative Action.

We are committed to diversifying our campus and we will work diligently to get things done. Along with this, in Spring 2008 the ASM Diversity Committee will build a more diverse and welcoming campus by holding UW-Madison's sixth annual Student Shadow Day for high school students interested in higher education. Shadow Day will be (TBA). College student will be able to volunteer.

                                            Join us for a meeting!

The Diversity Committee meets Tuesdays @ 7:00 pm, TITU!
