The Center for the First-Year Experience opened in March of 2008, the CFYE is charged with coordination and enhancement of the experience of first year and transfer students. The CFYE Advisory Committee is composed of faculty, staff and students with a significant interest in the experience of new students at UW-Madison. The committee has four central purposes.
1. Provide input on direction for CFYE programs and initiatives 2. Review CFYE budget and new student fee 3. Serve as advocates and "word spreaders" for CFYE 4. Serve on topic specific working groups as needed
The committee will meet three times per year. Members are appointed by the Dean of Students, VP for Teaching and Learning, and the Associated Students of Madison. Members receive an orientation to the CFYE and to their role as Advisory Committee Members prior to attending the first meeting.
