Welcome Students! ASM (the Associated Students of Madison) is the official student government of UW-Madison, representing the needs of 40,000+ students. A volunteer and campaign-driven organization, ASM advocates for student issues and concerns on campus as well as at the state and national levels. All students are automatically members! There are limitless involvement opportunities with ASM. Volunteers, interns, committee appointees, elected Student Council representatives, and paid staff and student positions are needed to accomplish the extensive level of services and student advocacy that ASM strives to provide.
Past victories for ASM include: - Securing Madison Metro bus passes for all students.
- Posting professor course evaluations online.
- Creating a 24-hour library.
- Planning "Shadow Day" for under represented high school students.
- Winning a full Study Day every semester before final exams.
- Opening Memorial Library for 24 hours for final exams.
