Spring 2014 Bus Passes Available Starting Monday, January 13
StudentPrint will close for the fall semester at the end of the day on Friday, December 20. December 20 is the last day to pick up a new fall pass, replacement pass or refund. StudentPrint will be closed for the winter break, and fall passes will not be issued after that date.
Spring passes will be available to students enrolled in the spring semester beginning Monday, January 13 at 10 am.
For the start of the semester, from Janunary 13 through January 31, there are two pickup locations:
- The box office on the first floor of Union South
- Caucus Room, 4th floor of the Student Activity Center, 333 East Campus mall
Both locations will be open Monday through Friday from 10 am through 6 pm, and both will be closed on Monday, January 20, the day before classes start, for the Martin Luther King Jr. legal holiday.
You must be enrolled in classes for credit at UW-Madison for the current semester and show a valid, current WisCard to pick up a pass. Only students registered for classes for credit at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for which tuition and segregated fees have been charged are allowed to participate. Auditors, guest students, research interns, senior auditors and those registered through other educational institutions such as UW-LaCrosse or Madison College are usually not eligible to recieve an ASM bus pass.
You may not give or share your pass with others. Madison Metro drivers will periodically ask to see your WisCard; if you do not have a WisCard when attempting to board the bus, or if your ID has been altered or appears fradulent, your pass will be confiscated and may not be returned. Students abusing the bus pass privilege may be charged with non-academic misconduct.
If your pass is lost or stolen, you can purchase replacement for $20. Replacements must be purchased at StudentPrint. We do not sell replacement passes at our new pass distribution sites. Madison Metro serves Madison and some nearby cities seven days a week from the early morning until late evening. Maps and schedules for every bus route are available online, and there is an interactive page where you can fill in your location and destination and find the best route and schedule for you. Your ASM Bus Pass is also good for paratransit services, which are transportation services adapted to the special needs of people with temporary or long-term disabilities. Click here for more information and the application form.
UW and UW Hospital, and Emeriti Employees have their own pass program. This program includes many visiting scholars, researchers and fellows. If you are not eligible for an ASM Pass, you might qualify for an employee pass. However, if you are a student hourly or graduate assistant, you do not qualify for an employee pass, and you must be enrolled for the term during which you are employed to qualify for a student pass.
