Fall Pass Distribution Now at StudentPrint
StudentPrint is the spot to pick up a Fall Semester Bus Pass. StudentPrint is located on the 3rd Floor of the Student Activity Center at 333 East Campus Mall. Regular hours are 9:30 am to 6:30 pm Monday-Friday. StudentPrint will be closed on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28 for Thanksgiving. The last day to pick up a new or replacement pass will be at the end of the exam period in December. No new or replacement Fall passes will be issued during Winter Break.
You must be enrolled as a student for fall classes at UW-Madison as a regular or special student and show a valid, current WisCard before you will be issued a fall pass. Please note that guest students and students in programs for which student segregated fees are not charged are not eligible for an ASM Bus Pass. See our FAQ page for more information on eligibility and alternatives for those not eligible to participate in the ASM Bus Pass program.
Appropriately registered students are entitled to one pass per semester. This pass is for your use, and your use only. You must carry your WisCard with you when you use your pass, and Metro Transit drivers may ask to see your WisCard at any time. If you do not have your WisCard with you or if your WisCard appears to have been altered or otherwise tampered with, your pass may be confiscated. Students abusing the bus pass privilege may be charged with non-academic misconduct.
If your pass is defective, you may exchange it for a new one at StudentPrint. You must turn in the defective pass to StudentPrint to recieve a new one.
If you lose or destroy your pass, you may purchase one replacement per semester. There is a $20 fee for a replacement pass. Keep your receipt. If you find your first pass within a month, and turn in the receipt and original pass to StudentPrint, you may be issued a refund. Please note that refunds are issued by mail, not at StudentPrint, and processing refunds may take six to eight weeks. If you have further questions, please see our FAQ page for more information.
Metro Transit runs fixed route and paratransit service covering most of the Madison metropolitan area seven days a week. Metro runs frequent service to campus as well as most major employment, shopping, health and recreation centers. In addition Metro provides service within the UW-Madison campus (routes 80, 81, 82 and 84). The route 80 (campus) buses are open to all, and require no fare or pass to board.
Maps and schedules for every bus route are available online, and there is an interactive page where you can fill in your location and destination and find the best route and schedule for you. There are also links to a variety of free apps for Android, IPhones and WIndows. If you prefer to talk to someone directly call Metro Customer Service at 266-4466 (TTY: 267-1143)
Your ASM Bus Pass is also good for paratransit services, which are transportation services adapted to the special needs of people with temporary or long-term disabilities. Click here for more information and the application form.
UW and UW Hospital, and Emeriti Employees have their own pass program. This program includes many visiting scholars, researchers and fellows. If you are not eligible for an ASM Pass, you might qualify for an employee pass. However, if you are a student hourly or graduate assistant, you do not qualify for an employee pass, and you must be enrolled for the term during which you are employed to qualify for a student pass.
