Good news! If you were enrolled as a UW-Madison student during the Spring Semester but haven't yet picked up an ASM Bus Pass, one is still waiting for you at StudentPrint. And if you are a student who was not enrolled during the Spring Semester but are enrolled for a Summer Session class* you too can pick up an ASM Bus Pass, good for unlimited rides on all Metro Transit bus routes through September 5.
Pick up your pass at StudentPrint in the Student Activity Center, 333 East Campus Mall, 3rd floor.
StudentPrint's intersession hours are Monday-Friday, 10 am to 4:30 pm.
StudentPrint will be closed on Monday, June 30 for the close of the fiscal year, and Thursday and Friday, July 3rd and 4th for the 4th of July holiday. They will close at 1 pm on Tuesday, August 13 for the Great Apartment Swap holiday. These are the known closings as of June 26. Please plan accordingly.
Please check StudentPrint's webpage for the most current information about any changes in their schedule: http://studentprint.rso.wisc.edu/
You must have been enrolled in classes for credit at UW-Madison for the Spring semester, or be enrolled for a Summer Intersession course* and show a valid, current WisCard to pick up a pass.
Metro Transit runs fixed route and paratransit service covering most of the Madison metropolitan area seven days a week. Metro runs frequent service to campus as well as most major employment, shopping, health and recreation centers. In addition Metro provides service within the UW-Madison campus (routes 80, 81, 82 and 84). These routes are open to all, and require no fare or pass to board.
*Summer session students will not be permitted to pick up their ASM pass until their class term begins. Please note this is the official start date for the class, not necessarily the date the class actually begins to meet. In addition, if the course for which you are enrolled is listed as a Fall Semester class, or if you are employed as a graduate assistant but not enrolled for classes until the Fall Semester, or you are in Madison only to attend SOAR you are not eligible for a Spring/Summer pass.
You may not give or share your pass with others. Madison Metro drivers will periodically ask to see your WisCard; if you do not have a WisCard when attempting to board the bus, or if your ID has been altered or appears fradulent, your pass will be confiscated and may not be returned. Students abusing the bus pass privilege may be charged with non-academic misconduct.
If your pass is lost or stolen, you can purchase replacement for $20. Replacements must be purchased at StudentPrint. Please see our FAQ page for more information on replacement policies. You are only entitled to one replacement pass per semester.
Madison Metro serves Madison and some nearby cities seven days a week from the early morning until late evening. Maps and schedules for every bus route are available online, and there is an interactive page where you can fill in your location and destination and find the best route and schedule for you. There are also links to a variety of free apps for Android, IPhones and WIndows. If you prefer to talk to someone directly call Metro Customer Service at 266-4466 (TTY: 267-1143)
Your ASM Bus Pass is also good for paratransit services, which are transportation services adapted to the special needs of people with temporary or long-term disabilities. Click here for more information and the application form.
UW and UW Hospital, and Emeriti Employees have their own pass program. This program includes many visiting scholars, researchers and fellows. If you are not eligible for an ASM Pass, you might qualify for an employee pass. However, if you are a student hourly or graduate assistant, you do not qualify for an employee pass, and you must be enrolled for the term during which you are employed to qualify for a student pass.
