Lauren has been with ASM for 4 years. She was a member of the UHS/SAC Standing Board, then chaired that board, and finally was elected Chair of the Governing Board when it was first established.
My main accomplishment is just opening this building! Me and one other person were responsible for the entire design of the building, and I am so glad that it has been so well received! Also, I consider all that the Governing Board does to be an accomplishment. We handle issues relating to 61 organizations on a daily basis, and it is not easy keeping everyone happy! Making up policies and procedures for how the space will be used, and just how we will allocate the space and what that will look like is huge too. I hope the examples we have set will continue on in future boards. I really just think seeing this building open after ten years of work is amazing!
My committee is responsible for the management of the SAC. We make all the policies, set up all the procedures, and just run the space in general. We are also the landlords for the RSOs that have space here. Basically, anything having to do with the SAC goes through us.
My favorite ASM memory is the Grand Opening of the SAC because it was a great event in general, and I was so happy to see how excited everyone was.
I got involved when I went to the ASM fall kickoff my freshman year. I was most interested in the SAC because I saw an opportunity to be involved in a project that was going to have a lasting impact on this campus. This was the committee that drew my attention the most.
After graduation, I plan to get a Master's Degree in Music Performance or an MBA. I would like to work in some musical setting, maybe managing a major orchestra.
